Personal:

I am a former collegiate football player (offensive lineman) who took up running to lose weight, and in the process I have become addicted! I started running at 290 lbs.  I am married and we are expecting our first child in September 2014.

Went to the Physical Therapist today . . . Nothing serious with the hip, just something wrong with my IT band. He said 3 or 4 days of no running should fix it.  That means recumbent bike for 3 days, blah!! So I got 1 hour in on the bike today.

The PT also gave me some stretches, and because my wife works with him we have permission to go in and use the ultra sound and stem therapy machines whenever we want :)

1 hour on the elliptical.  The machine said that it was 5.5 miles :) tried to jog a bit after, but the IT band still hurts, BOOOOOOO! :)

I have never been so happy with 4 miles :D good effort with NOOOO PAIN!!! AVG PACE an easy 8:34.  Going to continue to ease back into things tomorrow!

AM: basketball this morning.  I was the odd man out to start so i decided to run laps around the gym.  I ran for around 20 minutes at a decent pace (pain free again) so I am guessing that it was about 2.5 miles, then I played for the next 40 minutes, and I will count that for 1 more mile.  Things feel good, but I am going to continue to ease into it.  Maybe some more cardio later tonight

Still taking it easy, took the day off.  We got the win tonight against West Jordan in dramatic fashion.  It was great!

Got out, and still took it easy.  Decided to push it for the first bit and see how it felt.  Everything felt good and I was able to average about 7:20 before I cooled down.  Looking forward to getting back at it next week.
