Personal: I am a former collegiate football player (offensive lineman) who took up running to lose weight, and in the process I have become addicted! I started running at 290 lbs. I am married and we are expecting our first child in September 2014. |

AM: nice Monday morning run on the JRP. Took it real easy to start, then decided I wanted to get the legs moving the last mile, and I dropped it down to MP. AVG PACE was 9:05. Now it's off to the first day of school, BOOOOOO! PM: 6.07 around the hood. I felt much better than this morning, and am looking forward to this last push before I crush St. George! |

AM: 8 mile treadmill workout, really kicked my butt today. Warmed up for 10 min, then did 20 min of 1 min on and 1 min off. The "on's" were @ 6:27, the "off's" were @ 10:00. I ended up doing 11 min on and 9 min off. After that period I did a 3.3 mile marathon tempo @ 7:41, then I finished the last little bit cooling off around 8 min. Finished with 8 total miles, AVG PACE @7:56 PM: 4 easy miles. Up 56th to 47th then turned around and came home. Legs are pretty sore, but that was expected after the workout this morning. 8:53 avg pace |

Early PM: 4.05 easy miles around the hood. Lots of hills, and lots of fun. Everything felt really good. AVG PACE 8:57 Late PM: Didn't get out until about 10, but at least it was nice and cool. It turned out to be a much better effort than I had planned on because my body felt REALLY good. First 4 miles and change were all up 5600 west, and into a strong headwind. I had only planned on going up 3, but decided why not 4 :) Turned around at 6200 S and turned it on a bit, not too much but a decent clip. Splits were: 9:39, 9:23, 9:22, 8:46, 8:19, 7:58, 7:50, 7:38, 56 s. I counted the last 4 miles as fast because I felt like I was giving a pretty fast effort, even though the times may not reflect that. On a funny side note, I scared the crap out of another runner on 56th, I think he probably thought I was Sasquatch or something, I guess my chest is probably hairy enough :) |

AM: 3 super super super slow miles :) legs felt dead, but not sore . . . . . looking forward to a more energetic run this afternoon/evening. PM: Much better miles this evening! After my JV team played awful it was good for me to get out and clear my head. First 3 miles were up hill and my splits were pretty slow, around 9 min, then everything else was in the eights. |

| Well, the plan was 20 . . . .:( everything started great, nice and easy, then I hit a stretch of downhill and my hip started dying!!! I think it might be from over compensating for the little bit of knee soreness, but I tried to push through it, and it wasn't going away. I walked for a bit, and it didn't help. Then I tried to slow the pace and it just got worse. I have had a rough 24 hrs., but the good news is I get to start all over on Monday :() |
