I am a former collegiate football player (offensive lineman) who took up running to lose weight, and in the process I have become addicted! I started running at 290 lbs.  I am married and we are expecting our first child in September 2014.

AM: 3.25 with Katie.  It was at her pace because we are just trying to get her in good enough shape to be able to finish the Thanksgiving Point Half in 2 weeks, and she is getting close.  It really was a beautiful morning today, and I was happy to be out there with my beautiful wife.

Early PM:  3.75 miles on the treadmill.  I did a really short progression run.  I got loose and then turned it up a bit and got about 2.5 miles of marathon pace between my warm up and cool down.  The reason I kept it so short is because I was pacing myself for my  basketball game tonight.

Late PM:  Basketball game that accounted for about 3 miles.  This is going to make Mondays a little rough on me because I will probably be doing 3-a-days.  Luckily they are spaced out enough that I am able to get some good recovery between activities.

Nice workout today.  A good solid 4 mile run followed by a couple hours of full-court basketball.  The legs felt pretty good, and I am really going to be pushing it the next couple of weeks.  Hope all goes well.

Overall it was 8 really good miles today.  My legs felt better than I expected after the last 2 days of being pretty hard on them.  I went into the workout expecting to really take it easy, and that is how I started, but a little ways into it I started to feel really good, and I felt like I needed to push it a bit, so I did.  Anyways, I feel pretty good about the work I put in today.

7.5 easy miles around WVC.  At the 6 mile mark I stopped by Hunter High School and watched an inning of baseball. What a beautiful day for a baseball game! The run went good, and other than the baseball game nothing real eventful.

7 miles total today between an hour of basketball and a nice five mile jog.  Not much to report about, just another day of work.  The progress is really becoming more and more evident.

A nice 20 mile run today.  The legs felt pretty good throughout the run.  I ran the SL Marathon course.  I started with a friend that was running the race, and stayed with him for a couple of miles at the start.  Then my goal was to keep an 8:20 average pace the rest of the way, with some fast miles and some slower ones.  I basically hit my goal, my average pace was 8:21.  The course was pretty fun, It was a bit challenging at times with some good up hill jaunts, but I really liked the run!!
