Get Back into REAL shape. Long-Term Running Goals:
- Win the Clydesdale division in a marathon
- Qualify for and run Boston
- Run a sub 3 hr. Marathon
Personal: I am a former collegiate football player (offensive lineman) who took up running to lose weight, and in the process I have become addicted! I started running at 290 lbs. I am married and we are expecting our first child in September 2014. |

| Solid run. Ran on 3500 so to Granger, then up to 41 and back to 56th and home. The run could also be called the West Valley high school world tour :). good pace most of the way, and I picked it up to sub 7 the last 2 miles. Hammy was a bit tight, but nothing too serious. Overall AVG PACE 8:10 |

| 1 hour of agonizingly slow running, well more like slow jogging! My stomach was doing backflips the entire time, and I just battled through. Just trying to get some consistency during football, which has been hard, because after a game of coaching I am more soar than after a half marathon!! Hopefully I can just get through it in decent shape so that when it is over I can jump right back into more focused training! |

| Back to the grindstone!! I am going to try and ease back into it by working out with the xc team. They are getting ready for footlocker regional's, and I am using them to ease back in because they don't run big mileage. Today we did 7 miles, and running the same route as the kids helped me stay motivated. My only slow miles were up the steep part of 5600 w. and my cool down mile. Splits were: 7:08, 7:18, 7:44, 7:39, 7:52, 8:49, 8:54. |

| First speed work with the xc team. It kicked my butt, but that will only make me stronger! Warmed up 1.5 miles nice and easy 8:24 avg. pace, then the heat was on!! Between every rep we rested about 90 seconds. 1600m in 6:28, 1200m in 5:11, 800m in 3:28, 600m in 2:28, 400m in 1:33. Cooled down 1 mile @ 8:56. Overall everything felt good, looking forward to my continued work with the young kids. |
